When I saw this, I honestly could not believe my eyes, and my hands are still shaking. I know that I tend to be naive, even childlike sometimes, but how can an educated bird person encourage the use of this outdated, obsolete, cruel and dangerous form of "training" and containment? There are several tethers, leashes, harnesses, flight suits, etc, designed specifically for the safety and comfort of the bird that can be obtained at lots of pet stores both online and off, at reasonable cost. Leg chains can cause a long list of problems to the bird under normal conditions, and in case of the bird getting frightened for some reason, or if there is a fire, or what have you, the bird can easily be seriously hurt. I am terribly disappointed that anyone carries this type of thing, and very very disappointed with Prevue for making it. |
