Rob - 07/22/2010 We recently adopted a puppy and were training him to go to the bathroom on Wee Wee pads initially but decided to switch to Superpads when we saw that the cost for them was anywhere between 1/4 to 1/2 less than Wee Wee pads. We were happy to switch to save some money while still getting the same attraction effect to the new pads since they were also pheromone scented. I did, however, notice that there is a quality difference between the Wee Wee pad and Superpad and that the Superpad would sometimes stick to itself or rip. Just today, while opening one of the pads, it ripped and some material fell out onto our new hardwood floor, coating an area of approximately 0.5 foot by 1 foot. So, I sprayed the material (which is apparently a polymer that turns into a gel when wet), and attempted to soak it up with a paper towel. Instead of soaking up the gel substance, it spread out where I attempted to clean and got thicker. So, I stopped trying to clean it, figuring that if I left it alone it would dry out and would be easier to clean up later with a dry paper towel. I left for a few hours. Upon returning, I saw that my new hardwood floor had stained and warped in the area where the gel had contacted the boards, completely ruining a section of new floor. I tried to read of any warnings on the box, but there were none and there was no indication as to what kind of chemicals made up the gel material. So now i'm stuck with half a box of useless Superpads and several hundred to thousands of dollars in damage to my new hardwood floor. Had there been any warnings or cleaning instructions clearly provided with the Superpads, i'm sure this could have been avoided. |
